#1 S1 4.2 seats

Post by nzmike » Fri Nov 10, 2023 12:18 am

Hi all, can anyone advise if the seats on the S1 4.2 can be reclined any further through adjustment, or are they fixed? I couldn't see anything on the outside that would allow adjustment. Additionally, has anyone tried to lower the seats in any way to obtain more headroom in an FHC? Many thanks.

Mike, if you search for “rake” you can find various comments about the seats on the S1, that might answer most of your questions.
Some people, myself included, have fitted MX5 seats. The version with the separate headrests. They give a bit more headroom, especially if you sculpt out a bit of the seat base foam. There are topics in the upgrade section all about how the work is done.

Hope this can help

I raised my rails at the front with spacers but the recline still isn’t great. It’s compounded with newly restored seats where everything will take time to settle in and loosen up a little. I have MX-5 converted seats ready to go for long journeys and they are perfect for this.

Did you flip back the recliner lugs on the bottom that the back rests on?
A little bit there.
