#1 Hinged Extension Support Rail 3.8 FHC

Hi Guys
Do any of you have pictures showing the position of the above mentioned support rail, please?
Most of the pictures that I have seen are taken with the seats in place so detail isn't complete.
What I am most interested in is seeing how the hinged extension board sits on the support rail. In my mind, it should run flush/parallel to the boot boards and sit squarely on the support rail without any space between them.
On many of the images I've seen it appears that the extension board sits slightly raised and with a gap between it and the support rail.
My attempts at offering up the (new reproduction) support rail result in a gap between the support rail and the rear bulkhead of around an inch. If I sit the support rail flat on the bulkhead then there is a gap of around an inch between the support rail and extension board. It also appears that the bend angles aren't correct either.
My research shows that some cars don't seem to have the support rail fitted or there appears to be a large gap between the 2 parts when the hinged extension is lowered.
Can anybody shed any light on this please?
regards
