#1 Correct wipers and arms for S1 2+2 ?

Post by Durango2k » Sun Apr 28, 2024 7:23 am

Morning,

I got this set of wipers and arms with my car. Are these the correct items ? If so, I‘ll clean and polish and re-fit. Blades will get new rubber of course.

One arm however has no spring / new one needed, one misses the clamp / will use the one from its springless brother, if possible.

One of the wiper blades is different- thats for the curved edge of the windshield ?

Thanks !

Carsten

Difficult to tell, you need to check the length.

In any event the blades should not be that matt black colour and the rubber looks perished and worn
Series 1 FHC purchased 40 years ago. Courted my wife in it.
Series 1 2+2 when the kids were small now sold.
Series 1.5 OTS in opalescent maroon, Californian car. My retirement present.

Hi all,

I found when cleaning them that they are all different.

1 is straight, pin for clip at the end of the arm, chromed steel.
1 has a bend at the end, pin for clip at the end of the arm, chromed steel.

Both have many numbers printed inside. One has

BR 546431, 610251, 618679, 677173 AUS 138607 GER 863459 BTE & other FGN Made in England

1 has an alloy arm, no pin, no numbers, broken spring retainer, so, its scrap metal.

Do the numbers say where they came from ?

Regarding blades, its 2x MSA Ind Bras and 1x Aeramic England with a setup for a more curved windshield.

Kind regards,

Carsten
