I would appreciate some help with my Series1 4.2L. The engine runs fine to start but after 10 mins out on the road it cuts out and wont start until it cools down. Have replaced the coil, condenser and points but same thing is happening. During this dead period there is no spark at the plugs when turned over so something is taking the electrics out for a while. Someone has suggested it may be the ignition switch getting warm? or white wire going to coil from the ignition breaking down? but interested in any thoughts - thanks in advance

Ignition switch may be a fair candidate.

Replace your rotor arm with one of the Red ones from distributor doctor:

I’ve had this very same fault many years ago and it’s well documented on this forum if you search. The black Lucas rotors can short to earth once warm causing same symptoms.
