Hello forum, I’m in the process of installing my Webers, but the original water temperature sender won’t fit in the warneford adaptor. Do I need to source a different sender? I think I’ll need to work on the electric harness as well as it won’t reach the new position. Any comments, advise? Other than go back to the SUs

If you haven’t fitted the manifold yet you could drill and tap it to accept either standard sender or a metric thread for a more modern substitute. Most manifolds have a flat spot specifically for this purpose. It would help if you could post an image

You could fit a capillary gauge into the manifold (post drilling & tapping) or into an alloy hose joiner or elbow with a thread to suit. Which country are you in?

Easy option would be just to makeup a few feet of single wire with male and female crimps to lengthen the existing loom and stay with standard temperature sender. You’ll find the thread size on here somewhere. You could tidy it away and make a neat job very easily

Oh I see you’re in Mexico. If you need weber parts contact the excellent Mike pierce at pierce manifolds near salinas California. He does two dvd tutorials which are superb and can sell you jets and everything else you’ll need. He’s very knowledgeable and helpful

Thank you very much.! I think I got it. I just re threaded the small hole and the original sender fit right in. I think I’ll keep the original and just make a bronze cap for the larger hole. It looks much cleaner this way and I don’t mess with the cables.

First picture are the webers and the second one the SU with the original place,ent of the sender that I’ll try to keep in the webers. I really like the way the webers look….hope I can make them perform as they look !

This is where my water temperature sensor is fitted.
Originally the wiring loom went to a sensor with a threaded stud on the top, but I changed the wiring to a “spade” fitting to suit the later sensors. I do remember that I had a lot of trouble to get a sensor that worked accurately as there were a lot of incorrect sensors being sold at the time.
