This is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle for me as I can't remember where the soundproofing pieces in the photo fit on my 4.2, S1.5, 2+2 RHD. I removed them in 1980 and I am just putting them back now after a long renovation.
I have sorted most but I need help with the ones in the photo.
This is my thinking:
I do not know where no 1 goes. It is quite thin and has a stronger plastic feel. It looks as if it could fit under the dash but who knows?
I don't know where no 2 goes either. Any suggestions?
No 3 looks to fit best on the drivers side with the hole over the rubber inspection bung but then no 4 seems to be a good fit as well on the left side of the driver's footwell. They can't both fit here, so anyone know the answer?
No 5 looks as if it fits to the rear and under the gearbox cover. Am I correct?
No 6 I am ok with.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for replying.
I've looked at many websites like the one you suggest but they aren't the original patterns, like the ones I'm trying to replace, more like a simplified version.
I really need to find someone who has the originals to compare with.

In case it helps anyone in the future no 3 goes on top of the fuel tank.
I found out by chance looking at some photos of e types online.

Hello,
does anyone happen to know where you can still buy these parts today? My vehicle is missing one or the other.
Thanks, Klaus

I have seen some at this website
https://john-skinner.co.uk/quote/trim-u ... ofing-kit/
Alternatively, you can purchase it by the metre and cut it to shape from coverdale.com. Ask for a sample first. The latex backed jute is similar to the original but slightly thinner. This is what I'm going to do with any missing bits on my car as the whole set is very expensive.

Hi Chris,
No's 1&2 look like they live together but where I do not know.
I will confirm No.3 is for the fuel tank.
Coverdale and Martrim are good for the felt, Martrim have more choice. I have used the latex backed felt from Coverdale and added their green felt to the back to get the required thickness.
Is your car a manual? My 2+2 is auto so I think there are minor differences in the tunnel sound deadening, mine being a wider tunnel.
No.4 looks like it might be from the side of the RH footwell,
No.5 could be from the RH side of the tunnel, mine being a taller piece.
I will now add to the puzzle and raise you 2 pieces which baffle me.
I have converted my car from LHD so these pieces could be from under the dash.
Where I have not found the correct piece I've just made my own to what I think the shape should be.
Good luck.

Thanks for that. Looks like you've solved no 5. I'll check when I next get the Jag out.
My car is manual.
Can't help you with your pieces I'm afraid. There are some in the spare wheel cavity but they don't look like this
