#1 S1 2+2 A pillar chrome: installation ?

Post by Durango2k » Thu Sep 19, 2024 3:33 pm

Hi,

Some final things, now that the new front screen was fitted: how do I fit the A pillar chrome ?

There are some holes in the A pillar- not corresponding to the chrome parts. So I‘ll drill new ones. Were the chrome parts riveted ?

And, how are they secured at their front inner edge- do they go under the rubber ? Hard to imagine. Iirc from 15 yrs ago there was a lot of gluey stuff under them ?

Kind regards,

Carsten

Hello Carsten,
I fitted my chrome panelling yesterday. The parts were glued as part of the restoration a few years ago and I reattached them with body adhesive. I didn't manage to get the sealing rubber over the chrome parts.
Kind regards, Klaus
