Just replacing my original fit carpets and I can only source carpets with a simple latex back.
The originals (see photo) have a latex back and a thin layer of jute/felt that is integral to the carpet (not a glued on addition). The car has the normal sound proofing jute as well, attached to the car's floor panels.

I'd quite like to replace like for like so does anyone know of a supplier of carpets with this integral jute layer.
All the major suppliers I have contacted just have the simple latex back only.
Thanks

Jaguar changed the carpets to nylon flock, felt backed on the later S1 cars, this type of carpet was fitted to the S2 cars also. So you need to order carpets for a S2 car. BAS can supply these.

Thanks very much for your reply.
I phoned BAS but they have discontinued this type of carpet now (nylon flock felt back). Which is a pity as the simple rubber backed is flimsy compared to the originals.
Be good if it was available anywhere.

That's a shame, I bought the correct felt backed carpets from them in July last year. BAS probably didn't make the carpets themselves, so perhaps they could put you in touch with their supplier?

Might this have been NOS? My understanding, the original type of carpet has not been available for decades. What is universally used instead is called "Wilton Wool"; the pile is coarser, longer and not as dense as the original and the rubber backing is thicker and not as flexible as was the original. I('ve searched long and hard, no luck ...

They can send samples, although maybe too thick at 10mm.

Thanks but I think they only do the carpet by the length rather than a set for the car.
Cheers

Good news; original style flocked carpet, with the integral jute layer, is still available; I’ve just bought me a roll:
