Head cylinder paint

Hello everyone,

Who can say if it is necessary to paint the portion of the cylinder head between the cam cover and the intake manifolds on a November 61 car? On the opposite exhaust side, it's certain but I have no trouble finding the info on photos.

It seems that indeed the intake side of the cylinder head was also painted although not easily visible.
Here is a detail picture on my car whith traces of paint on the rear part of the side.

On the exhaust side the paint is well all around.
I believe that it is still the original paint.
