They used to be £500 each, now £1,000 each!

Yes, 205 70 15. Wheels you mention are for Series2, mine were XW5738C/3-TL, around £500 a piece

They look great IMO. I suppose you are not contending with any salt on the roads at the moment?

The stainless version is twice the price of the chrome wheel now, so a matching set of stainless center laced wheels would be £5k + the cost of the tyres.

My plan is to finish it 100%, MOT it, and drive it this summer. But I'm retired, so need something to do, so I'd like another project. My thoughts right now are around:
-another 3.8, preferably OTS. I'm sure the second one will be a lot easier than the first one
-Corvette C2
-Pantera
-60s Ferrari
My criteria are limited accident damage, good paperwork, in Europe, LHD, any condition

Is there a place online where projects can be found for sale? There must be tonnes of projects out there that have stopped for a reason. My experience is that to get a project done, you need 5 things:
-the desire to do it
-money
-space
-time
-understanding wife
If one of those 5 are missing, the project just stops...

So where do I find my next project?

Good forum support is also an advantage to make a project easier....this and JL aid E type owners considerably......so ensure you next car has a good support network....Steve

Have a look at any clubs specific to the cars you’re interested in. Join their forums and start off by reading through to see how helpful members are.
There are reports of some forums where the response can often be “RTFM” as in read the ffff manual. They won’t be helpful unlike this forum. That could be enough to stop you buying one of those cars.
Are there restoration reports you can learn from?
Otherwise post a wanted ad after searching through previous cars/projects offered and sold.
