Can anyone advise what size flat rubber seal is required for the quarter lights glass. This is the stuff that wraps around the glass and slides inside the chrome frame.

I'm at the restoration show but forgotten the measurements. Is it 35mm or 40mm we'd use.

Many thanks

Al

Alun, have a look here: https://coh-baines.co.uk/collections/cl ... 9312138429
They are the go to people for all seals for the E Type, with the other spares suppliers often just selling on these parts and adding their xx%.
If you isolate the E Type parts and specific to your model you can buy a complete set or individual seals as needed.

I bought the correct seals, but they were impossibly tight. In the end I just used a bicycle inner tube which proved to be perfect. I’ve done two sets now and both are sealed with inner tubes.

:yeahthat:

I think I used car inner tube rubber. It was a squeeze and the use of a mallet was required but the results were good.

Use a generous width and trim off the excess once the frame is in place and secured.
