I took the 3.8 out on saturday to the event at Aston Hill in Hertfordshire which entailed a 100 mile each way blap around the M25. Not to be honest, my preferred way to enjoy the E type but the only practical way to get from Kent to Aston Clinton.
When I was nearing home, and bear in mind it was a fairly warm day, I noticed the throttle was hanging up. I found it sticking about 1500 rpm and assumed I may have a air leak or linkage issue. I was frankly too whacked after my 100 mile drive in a non air conditioned car (

) to do more than pop the bonnet and look at the linkage. What I discovered was it was a mechanical sticking as it wasn't returning back to idle on the linkage. Leaving it to look at the next day when I did return, the issue had completely gone. So it must be heat related . I wonder if anyone has experienced this problem and can point me where to look as all the clues have of course disappeared. I was going to remove a bit at a time to find out whether it was the a carb or carbs or the linkage itself. Any thoughts out there much appreciated or else its another 100 mile blap around the M25 for me!
