Has anyone ever tried replacing the bellows on a S1 brake servo without taking everything out? The servo is fine mechanicallly, it’s just that the bellows have split.

Or maybe none at all.

Seriously, in the last 60 years can’t recall ever seeing a mainstream American car with the bellows type servo as used on the 3.8 E. If any did use that type of servo, I would say it was very few and mostly likely 1950’s vintage.

Edit: Some American cars did use remote servos a la the 4.2 type for a short time in the fifties, before going to the ubiquitous (at least into the '90's) enclosed diaphragm canister style servo mounted directly to the primary (and only) master cylinder.

I believe Chrysler used only oval bellows.

But I think my point stands: The bellows type servos were not at all common on American cars.

GM Y body, 1961-63-
Oldsmobile F85, Buick Special, Pontiac Tempest and their trim variants.
Unibody, the 215ci (3.5l) alum V8 that Rover later bought, front suspension sub assembly, Pontiac had a rear transaxle which tended to fold under in cornering.
Small cars unlike the 64 up A body with the same names.
