My 1966 2+2 currently has no mirrors and I'd like to add some. Have settled on the Fosseway clip-on ones.

I have searched previous threads, and there seems to be a consensus that convex glass is best for the passenger side. For the driver's side, am I best going for convex or flat?

I fitted convex on both sides and think they are perfect.

Flat on the driver’s side will give you too limited a field of vision.

Make sure you read the above post so that you can

1. Buy them direct without swallowing all the chaff about « Specially for E-Types, specialist product » bollocks, which they are NOT,

and 2. See how they need modifying to make a success of their fitting, so they don’t fall off ………

I had convex both sides. Best choice.
You may find the fittings work loose when you tighten them on the window then go for a run - there is a danger they could fall off. I put a small piece of non slip rubber under the clamp and it was ok then.

Price on TEX has now increased to £39.90 including vat, but still cheaper than the £39.90 excl VAT that Fosseway are asking.

Will get a set and start modifying - don't have access to a welder, so might have to think up an alternative method for the threads. Saw a note that someone had drilled them out to 6mm and put in a 5mm helicoil - might work.

No realistic hope of doing anything but a botch with a helicoil fitted into 2mm sheet, I would go as far as to say I do not believe it is possible, and there is not enough depth for a Rivnut of any dimension that I have ever seen.

For someone handy with TIG it’s about 10 seconds work ……….

Believe me, making a lasting success of this requires these screws to be tight.
