#1 Brake and clutch reservoirs

The outlets on my reservoirs are approximately 8.5mm and the hard pipe coming from the master cylinders is 6mm. Kelsey Hayes original set up.
I’m fairly sure I’ve seen the pipes sweating previously, so I’m not confident they’re of the correct composition for brake fluid. And when I drained the old fluid, anything from that vicinity was quite black.
Which diameter epdm pipe should I use to join the two? I’m either squashing and clamping 8mm pipe onto a 6mm tube, or will I be fighting a losing battle trying to stretch a 6mm hose onto an 8ish mm plastic outlet?
I might try and use a hydraulic flaring tool and increase the bore of the metal pipe, but I think it’s possibly steel original rather than cunifer, so may not be successful.
