hello guys, just after a quick bit of advice on the most feared of topics - the reaction plate. i have got mine off in order to finish the overhaul of the front suspension and wished to clean up and de burr the "rabbits ears". i knew already that the plate had suffered from damage in the past. I have a spare plate all cleaned up.
my concern is that to remove the old plate I had to prise it out once all the bolts were removed. It really was a tight fit between the chassis rails. Is his correct?
Also how on earth do you get to the back of the bolts holding the rabbits ears to stop them turning when you set the suspension and tighten up the nuts?
thanks for your help

Hi Tim.....Just refitted the Torsion bar adjusters on my S2 2+2 so assume that its not exactly the same as a S1..However It was very tight fitting the nuts to the back of the plate.....first I made sure that the bolts would fit & rotate quite freely..then starting with the lower nut held in place with gaffer tape on a ring spanner lowered it in from above....NB the head of the lower bolt shoulders up to a flat face on the adjuster. then repeat for the upper......I then finished tightening from below.(front jacked up).Ps had to remove the down pipes.....keep fiighting it, good luck Steve
