#1 Body splash shield problem

Post by lyons » Sun Mar 20, 2011 4:44 pm

Fitting new / old stock body splash shields to car BUT the drivers side (RH) fouls badly on the rubber when closing the bonnet. Any ideas / comments from others who had had this problem and solved it.

Is it just a case of using brute force to bend where it should be !!! - difficult with the shaped crease in the metal.

Passenger side (LH) fits well.

Car is RHD OTS.

You perhaps need to slightly adjust the fixing holes to lower the panel as well as bend the metal to fit. Alan

I fitted reproduction panels, but faced the same problem. It was a matter of controlled brute force to alter the angle of the panel to clear the inner wheelarch, I'm afraid.
