Boot lid gaps

In process of rebuilding rear end on a 62 3.8OTS and we cannot quite get the gap right all the way round the boot lid. What gap size would be regarded as acceptable, we are not necessarily talking to concourse standard (but if there is a concourse requirement I would be interested to know what that is).

Am not an expert on e types especially, but 3 or 4 mm once paint is on shouldn't be too much to ask

The correct boot seal, which was stuck to the boot lid, is not available. Using the later seal affixed to the body gives a bad gap. If known about before going to paint the lip on the body can be tapped down to take the later seal.
