#1 door rubbers

Post by stevex75 » Wed Aug 31, 2011 4:25 pm

nearly finished my 1963 3.8 fhc after 10 years but am not very clear how all the rubber in the door and side window (ndv) fits. I bought a complete rubber kit a while back and know roughly where each piece goes but would like a bit more detail. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Steve

to be honest if the rubber kit doesnt have part numbers on the items - I would refer to the parts manual as it shows a picture of them.

there appears to be a seal at the bottom of the doors but I,m unclear as to where they are attached. Is it to the door or to the cill chrome. Also is the rubber on the a post and around the windows stuck with adesive or just wedged in the channel?

That seal goes in the channel on the sill and all the rubber seals are glued in place. Although I have yet to do this - I am advised that the seals are rarely a perfect fit so some trial fitting is recommended before applying any glue.
