#1 Which Wires - MWS or Dayton?

Post by Simon Templar » Thu Jun 26, 2008 6:06 pm

Hi All

Just to finish on the thread of wires for a series 1. If we exclude Borrani which are undoubtedly of high quality but are are at the top end of the price spectrum - we are left with MWS Chrome or Dayton Chrome wheels.

Any thoughts on the advantages of one vs the other?

Has anyone out there owned both - which were preferred.

Regards

You already know my experience of MWS (OK) but I have none on the Daytons. Try posting on the Jag-Lovers forum as they are standard fit over in the US but I haver heard anything negative. If SNG are selling them they are probably very good indeed so give them a ring and ask why - they are always ready to chat and offer advice. The Daytons are also significantly cheaper based on the list price on the MWS site - ?413 for the 'Competition' stainless and ?309 for the 'Competition' chrome wires, all plus VAT. The standard wires are about ?100 cheaper. Not sure what the Daytons are. You need to find out the difference between the standard and competition wires before trying to compare like with like. Stick to chrome though.

Note: 'Competizione' is Italian for 'here comes another mug'
