Does anybody know what I can stick inside the driver and passenger door to make them sound more solid when shutting them. Something like you find under a stainless steel sink. Any ideas?

Steve, use sound deadening material. Make sure the inside of the skin is completely dust free or it won't stick very well. Dynomat is just one of many types of sound deadeners.

What you need are the self adhesive bituminous pads . These can be obtained, usually only in packs of 10 or 20 , from large UK factors such as ( probably ) Edmunds Walker - about 20 quid for a pack . They can be cut to shape so you can fit them wherever you wish . You might be able to get them singly, but I don't know of a source

Flintkote was the brand - made in Ellesmere Port I think, where they used the bituminous tars and residues from the various oil refineries nearby. The essential characteristic is mass, not thickness or temp insulation or reflectivity like aluminium-covered foam layers used for heat insulation. The heavier the better.

Frost are my special friends this week, as it happens. They sent me a mailer advertising 20% off a range of lines illustrated. Since proof-reading technical details comes a second nature (except my own sloppy typing) I noticed that one of the before/after prices displayed was nothing like 20% discount and I emailed them to that effect.

After exchange of a few bon mots with the delightful French marketing lady Caroline, I received a large freebie lareosol of glass cleaner next morning. No excuse for my usually smutty fingerprints everywhere now...
