Series 1 : Colour of headlamp scoops

Hello,
does anyone have information regarding the point in time, since when the headlamp scoops of a series 1 (covered headlights) have not been in body colour anymore?
Tried to find something in Philip Porters book "Jaguar E-Type The definitive history", where all changes are very well documented, but was not able to figure out this one.
BTW, is there a defined colour for the greyish/silverish look, that the 4,2 cars have?

i am confident that all 4.2's had the silver finish (mine is chassis 37) and fairly confident that only the earliest of the 3.8s had a body colour scoop.

The Jaguar concours guides call the scoop colour "medium silver / grey with a slight metallic finish". So no I dont think there is a defined colour

i should have looked at the concours guide before i replied as it gives a more definitive answer... it says:

HEADLIGHT BUCKET COLORS
Earliest cars - body color (Porter ? Pg.185)
All other covered headlight cars - the color varies from light to medium silver/gray with a slight metallic finish
Open headlight cars - body color
All covered headlight cars had a rubber seal around the front of the bucket (J30 ? Pg. 177 & J37 ? Pg. 160)

Hi Chris,
thanks for that information, so I might consider getting them painted in the right colour, when the headlights have to be converted for european road usage.
