#1 Boot floor help please

Post by alunwill » Sat Jul 19, 2025 11:41 am

I notice that a few areas in the boot have small holes where the new panels butt together in the corners. Would you normally weld these or let the seam sealant do it's job once in the body shop.
Probably no larger than 3mm.

Could some of the more knowledgeable forum members please advise.

The panel sealer will sort this out just 2 things to remember, buy good quality sealer from your local autobody shop supplier and apply it in a generous manner, coat both sides if it won't be seen.

If the bodyshell has not been painted yet why not just weld up the holes and finish the job?

Fair point Geoff, I'll weld where I can get access and let the sealant do the rest.
