XJ6/XJ12/XJS hub carrier on E-type S1/S2

someone you already tried to install a rear hub carrier of an XJS/XJ6/XJ16 (reference C26699) on a E-type serie 1 or 2 ? The mounting of the bearing hub and the outer fulcrum shaft is the same, therefore compatible. Now, are the dimensions of the hub carrier the same for E-type and XJ, in order to have the good caster angle on the rear suspension ? Thanks in advance for your answer.

I think you mean camber rather than castor angle, and yes , an XJ6 carrier is perfectly usable on an E : it is the driveshafts and lower wishbones which differ between the two types

Hello and thanks, actually, I made ​​a mistake, it is the camber angle. So I understand that the hub carrier of all or XJ6/12 XJ6 is compatible with the rear suspension of the E-type S1/S2, without changes dirvershaft and lower wishbone. However, I do not understand why the reference hub on doors XJ6 (C26699) is different from that of E-type 4.2 after 1965 (C25216 for S1, C26701 for S2).

Jacques : I do not know the exact difference between XJ6 and E carriers, although I suspect the differences are concerned with the fact that the XJ is much heavier than an E . However, many people have used them because they are much more widely available that the original E ones , and do not seem to have any difficulties
