I was wondering HOW you get the rubbers to fit back into the cantrails or do you just glue them on? I am in t he throes of a resto of a 62 FHC. Have buil a rotisserie for it and am thoroughly enjoying it. Will try to figure out how to post pics.

A '62 FHC should have a pre-formed 'C' channel section rail pop riveted around the front and rear side windows.
I believe some later models had the front rubber just glued on.

I have found that the tool used to install splines in screened windows works well.
Simply insert the inside of the door rubber in the cantrail and run the wheel along the other side. It should slide right in ... no glue required. You may still have to use a dull slotted screw driver to complete the job at the ends.
Depending on the manufacturer, you should no problems.
I have found that rubbers made in the UK work best.
Good luck

Make sure you wipe off the white residue from the extrusion before fitting them.

were the seals you bought and used the exact same profile as the ones you took off or did you get something smaller to ensure a better fit??

Sorry to hijack your thread but I wonder whether you may help ? I am just about to fit my door seals also but have spotted that the seal retainers were taken off when the shell was sand blasted and have not been put back on. These are the seals stips on the bulkhead that seal the front edge of the door. Have you got any photos of how they fit please? I reckon they are pop riveted onto the bulkhead probably from the inside but any clarification would be much appreciated.
