I have to admit to being a big fan of original low mileage cars and 'Etype UK' have just such a series 1 3.8 FHC cracker imported from the states in an unusual shade of blue with just 27,000 miles from new and extensive (perhaps all) documentation covering its life.

I've only just discovered it, so do not know how long its been available.

A perfect example to check out original details and a joy to see...

That is absolutely stunning. When folks are paying similar money for restored cars, I would have though that a unique survivor like this car would command a much higher price.

A candidate for a couple of gallons of Waxoil, for sure!

You're right Richard this is a very rare find and one that the experts have been getting very excited about, after all a car is only original once and it cannot be replicated.

Harry is away right now otherwise I am sure he'd be around to shed some light but this car has every conceivable piece of paper and documentation kept throughout its life inc a photo of the original dealer hand over when new.

It still has various factory chalk marks such as on the bulkhead. It's totally original and unlike most low mileage cars it hasn't been left year after year, it's been run regularly and maintained so everything works.

It just needs to find an appreciative new owner. It's only just come into stock having lived in Southern California all its life.

Anyone fancy taking a look then I'm sure Harry would be pleased to show it.

What would be the chances of some decent detailled photos that we could add to the "original" stickies?

vipergts - I'm guessing from your reply that you must be associated with ETUK? if correct do you think Harry would be happy to have pictures taken for posting up? I'm thinking that for those going through restoration in the future that such originality would help enormously with all the correct period details on fixtures/fittings/plating etc?

As Harry kindly hosts the Forum I am sure he would be happy for someone to go and take photos. We need someone who is a good photographer, has a decent camera and knows E-Type's like the back of his hand. If anyone would like to volunteer I think we can set something up and you will, in return, have a magical day surrounded by the most fantastic E-Types in all stages of restoration. On the other hand maybe Lee can get the pictures as he fulfills all the requirements and his brother owns the company!

Any volunteers?

No problem and worth reiterating for those new to the Forum. It is kindly hosted on the E Type UK server without charge and Harry asked me to administer it for him. I am ably supported by Angus and Mark as Moderators and a group of very knowledgeable regulars who know far more about E-Types than me. Specifically Christopher Storey, Peter Crespin, Marek, Dave Kerr, ChrisC, kingzetts and a host of others. Harry has never sought any gain from the Forum and wants it to be as independent as possible but please click on the E Type UK link at the top left (temporarily replaced by a bbphp logo

but the click still works) and see what he has to offer as it also generates traffic in the eyes of the search engines.

If you would like to go down and take some pictures for us I suggest, in Harry's absence, you contact Jonathan Bevan at E Type UK and explain this thread.

The car is so beautifully correct it would be useful to the greater good of this forum I'm sure.

I'm more than happy for someone to photograph our low mileage S1 FHC. I also have a low mileage S1 4.2 Roadster unmolested with all the factory markings on it. That should be in early January.

The pictures and details would be helpful for some if the forum users.

I second that as Angus knows exactly what photographs are required and/or missing from our library plus he is a stickler for the detail.

Apologies if this is a bit cheeky, but I would dearly love to go and have a look at these early cars, as mine which I am restoring is a March 63 car.... wouldn't be able to get down until around the christmas break between Christmas and New Year...are you folks open around then or having a well deserved break ?

Thanks for asking

Car is a LHD FHC, manufactured March 6th, 1963, originally cream with black interior, but had a respray to black in the early 1980's, 3 owners from new so I am told

Am going to put up a proper restoration post in a few weeks, need time to pit the pictures together, but having stripped the car so all interior out, and engine bay clear , it's now a rolling chassis, and I need to sort out the finances to do the bodywork

Have blasted, cleaned and painted some of the smaller parts, but the big challenges remain, have restored an early 911, so although no expert, it's all doable...as the car came to me somewhat rough but complete, I'm always keen to pore over original examples to see how they should go back together..!

The car is on xke.data, chassis is number 888330
