The 'E' Type Forum

Hi all,

after many years of use, joy and many optimisation steps regarding technical items my interiour did not make the same progress. So I intend a major resto of my interiour.

Are there any recommendations (if possible in that forum)?
Currently I have collected 2 suppliers: John Skinner and BAS International.
Any , pros/ cons or experiences with further suppliers?

I used BAS as they were prepared to work with me. If you buy their pre trimmed metal panels, chances are they won't fit. I got them to provide them untrimmed which meant I could get the metal to fit. Sent them back for them to trim.

I also used BAS and found them very helpful and their stuff seems good quality.

Hi i used John Skinner when retrimming my TR2. Very helpful, however the door cards needed a lot of work, not surprising as no 2 cars were the same. I always keep the old ones as templates, as long as they were a reasonable fit when you removed them from the car they make modifing the new panels so much easier

I had a previous thread about interior trimming.
It's not much use for Bill in Germany but I got a professional trimmer to do the most difficult bits because the cost was about the same as buying the trimming parts, much to my surprise (complete seats rebuild plus centre console for less than ?1k parts and labour).
He buys plenty of material from BAS but sources his own leather and makes the seat covers himself.
