#1 Horn and fan relays

Post by hirstydg » Sun Jan 13, 2013 12:37 pm

Have spent the past 4 months reassembling my 3.8 dhc after a complete rebuild. Despite taking numerous photos during dismantling the position of the horn and cooling fan relays was not visible. I would be grateful if anyone could take a look at their car and let me know their positions. Mine is one of the last 3.8s with many features of the 4.2.

Many thanks

David

If its like the 4.2 - you can only really mount the horn relay in one position because of the short loom. It bolts onto 'removable' wheel arch panel (next to the battery) with the terminals facing the engine.

The fan relay I dont know about but i need to fit one as well...

The fan relay fits on the outside of the header tank support on the drivers side (RHD). If you look closely you will see two very small holes.

Is that an OTS or an FHC? Not that it matters with regards to relays, but we're not talking XKs here so DHC is going to confuse people.
