The 'E' Type Forum

Can anybody tell me if the sump of Mark X is the same as that of a 3.8 E type? Also is the oil capacity the same for both engines?
PS fired her up yesterday evening for the first time this year. 15 seconds of cranking and away she went. Not bad as has been under wraps with a dehumidifier on via a timer since November. Onto the road- Webasto open - exhausts snarling - brilliant but was glad of the heat soak once she'd finally warmed through!

The sumps are different, not sure about oil capacity.

E-Type sumps themselves are also different.

Early 3.8 sumps had a smooth outer surface whereas later models had fins cast on the sides.
