I have a new rear floor in the FHC, and it does not have the holes drilled to take the reverse light mounting. Can anyone let me have exact measurements and or photos of where these holes should be please. I can guess it but obviously do not want to get this wrong. cheers

Hasn't your floor got the pressed recess to fit the reversing lamp? I don't understand the question if it has, because the lamp location is therefore obvious. Make a template of the hidden attachment flange, hold it up to the recess mark the holes from that.
If it doesn't have the recess for the lamp, it's a later floor panel and the lamp's not going to fit no matter where you drill the holes.

hi there. The floor pan is correct and has the recess with the hole drilled for the wire in it.
This will provide me with a centre line but I cannot pick up the exact location for and aft from this, I think. I will have another look this morning. Meanwhile, when I read your post about it being a later floor I nearly spat out my breakfast. A quick check on the photos revealed all is well on that!

Not sure if this will help, but here's the light on my early 4.2.
Note that the main 'ridged' part of the body sits just forward of the numberplate recess fold.

Sounds like SWMBO whenever the subject of D-type build cost comes up...

Cheers both, much appreciated and I think I can locate it easier enough from the photo. There is no rubber seal under the shroud is there? I mean against the painted boot floor as such?

No, just a rubber grommet around the wire.

great photo it would appear that the holes are roughly half way along the indentation which I will check corresponds to the other photos, namely that the back flange on the light sits against the number plate panel. Now all I have to do is get upside down and drill some holes in my beautifully painted boot floor . fun fun fun
