Wiring loom question

hi Guys

I am just fitting the wiring loom into the 3.8 FHC and have a question regarding the plastic sheafing on the loom for the right and left hand body side. I am assuming that the sheafing is to protect the cotton loom where it fits over the very tight aperture above the rear wheel arch. Can anyone confirm I am correct in this assumption or should the sheaf be positioned elsewhere? thanks in advance.

yep correct it goes across the top of the wheel arch. Also dont forget the rubber bushes where the loom goes through the body work in the panel just behind the doors. thats where the loom will wear over time if it is sitting against a metal edge.

Great. Thanks for the help. Have got the rubber grommets in already. On driver side does the hatch pull cable go through same rubber grommet as wiring? And is there an securing tie for the cable to stop it rattling? Metal on metal in there

it runs separately but to be fair it doesn't rattle although I would be tempted to cover it in shrink-wrap... i.e. I wish i had done it but mine is still the original and okay after 50 years. It doesn't rattle

Ok thanks. I cannot remember any ties on the cable and was not sure which hole it goes through behind the handle but will work it out. Thx
