currently my car a 63 FHC is just finishing receiving a bare metal respray and painter cannot seem to figure out the reinstall chrome around front window and rear hatch.
Any suggestions e type gods?

The front and rear glass are both held in by a one piece circumferential rubber seal. This has a rubber locking strip that is pushed in place and spreads the seal outwards, holding the glass firmly in place. This locking strip is then concealed by chrome mouldings.

The rear has 2 chrome mouldings; one goes on the top and one on the bottom. The seal has channels on either side of the locking strip to hold these in place. The gap on either side is covered by 2 short chrome finishing pieces which also go into the channel.
Repro chrome mouldings are a notoriously poor fit; if at all possible reuse your old ones.

The front seal again has channels to fit the mouldings, of which there are four. The top and bottom ones go in first, and then the side pieces. Again fit here, especially with the side pieces, is often poor, and may require a fair amount of black screen sealer to keep the side pieces in.

I would get the glass put in professionally by a windscreen installer, rather than by the paint guy. The windscreen is probably the last thing you want to put on the car as access to the dash area is much harder once it's in. Hope this helps.
