#1 Fuel tank question

Post by andrewh » Sat Aug 03, 2013 4:40 pm

Just starting to fit the new fuel tank in the FHC and I cannot recall the set up installation for the breather pipes. So is that the tank breather goes to the Y piece on the floor and the petrol filler aperture overflow to the Y piece also? Such a simple thing not to recall ! Getting it in maybe a different matter.
Tilly the front edge in first and move it sideways? Cheers. Andrew

Hi Andrew - the vent pipe at the left rear of the fuel tank goes up to the spigot under the filler cap - this is to allow air displaced by incoming fuel to escape. The drain from the filler box goes to one of the connections on the Y piece - this is to allow rain water or over spilled fuel to run away.

Thanks Barry. Very good of you. So the other outlet on the Y piece is left open the I guess? Cheers. Andrew

Hi Andrew - the second connection to the Y piece goes to the left hand channel drain below the boot lid on the roadster. If you have two drain holes in the channel on your FHC the left one will go to the Y.
