can someone tell me where to buy the cage nut and its cage for 3.8 headlamp surround screw. I have a few cages broken off and SNG just sold me nuts for 4.2 screws ( different thread ) and cages made of aluminum which cannot be welded under the STEEL bonnet ??
any help to source would be appreciated

I would say the easiest solution is to make your own if they not available from the usual suppliers. The nuts are not welded in, so aluminium is ok but personally I would prefer steel as your less likely to strip them. The cages are a simple part to make yourself.

I rec'd a dozen new nuts and cages both made of steel from Martin Robey for a very reasonable price and are now welded in place below headlamp surrounds .
