#1 1966 2+2 donor for convertible

Looking for some experienced feedback on my latest restoration project.
I have a pretty original '66 XKE 2+2. I'm considering purchasing a same year convertable to restore. I'm thinking I may be able to use the bonnet, engine/drive line, dash and front seats from the 2+2 as donar parts. Has anyone done a similar conversion? Have found a '66 convertable with bad engine, no interior and bad front bonnet.
However, ths 2+2 has been in the family since 1970, has 60k miles and was restored in the mid 90's. Had considered selling the 2+2 but the market for them is very weak. Thinking a convertible with non matching numbers but in freshly restored shape is worth 3-4 times more than the 2+2.
Your feedback would be appreciated.
