#1 Horn location

I am wondering where exactly the horns locate on my new bonnet. Of course I have now scrapped the rotten bonnet having stripped it some time ago. I recall they were mounted inside the headlight apertures perhaps on a bracket screwed via captive nuts to the box section that runs in board front to back . Looking at my new manufactured bonnet there are no spare captive thread holes so either I have it wrong or Jaguar have left off the fixings. Perhaps some kind soul could enlighten me? If you have a photo even better. Thanks chaps.

They are mounted on the Lower part of the picture Frame, using brackets.
Not on the bonnet !

Hi Andrew,
The later cars; 65 onwards?? had brackets on the bottom of the picture frame, but the earlier cars had them on brackets in the bonnet.
My 65 has brackets in the bonnet, but the horns are mounted on brackets on the picture frame. I imagine your replacement bonnet is the later type.

Thanks guys. There is another lesson here. Don't throw away anything until you have finished the job! Mine were definitely in the bonnet being a 62 car. Now I have to work out what to do about that little problem. Thank you for the photos. Ummh

Ok, so my new bonnet does not have spot welded bracket to take the horns. Well done Jaguar and now it's too late to do this as its all painted. My plan is to make a bracket it up and mount it on the exposed thread from the bonnet hinge brackets. It should clear the sugar scoops. Can anyone think of any other problems with this idea
:)
