Hi Folks
I am hawking this subject around a bit but have not had much response. The car went for an MOT last week, it passed but the inspector stated that the N/S bush on the anti-roll bar would need replacing in the future. I checked and sure enough the bar was loose due to wear in the rubber bush the O/S was OK. This came as a surprise to me as I had replaced them three years ago when I did all the rear suspension. I suppose I have done less than a 1000 miles since. There appears to be two possible causes, the first is poor quality rubber bushes (SNG I think) or I have reassembled the rear suspension incorrectly which is exerting excess pressure on the bush. I am considering replacing with Poly bushes, any views please.

Anti roll bar bush wear
#2 Re: Anti roll bar bush wear
Could be badly made part - too small or mounting tightened up in relaxed position. I have fitted rubber (Metalastik) and polybush with no issues. Just remember to only tighten the mount with the weight of the car on its wheels.

#3 Anti roll bar bush wear
Hi Angus
Thanks for the reply I couldn't swear that these bushes were not tightened under load but it is unlikely as not being an experienced mechanic I tend to read the forums and have the manual ready on the big day. I think I will fit polybush as at least the inspector will know I have taken some action.
