Series 1 vs. series 2 seat back frames

Apart from the headrest bracket, does anyone know if there is a difference between the series1 4.2 and series 2 seat back frames? I'm asking because I have series 2 seats (ratcheting recline and headrest pockets) and I plan to recover them. I would prefer to use series 1 covers ( my car is series 1) and remove the headrest bracket. I don't want to order the kit until I know if it will fit. Thanks.
