#1 Rear wheel bearings

Post by stevex75 » Tue Jun 24, 2014 6:27 pm

My car is a 1963 3.8 Fhc. Do I need to remove the back axle to change the rear wheel bearings or can they be changed with the car just jacked up and the hub carrier etc removed?

You can leave the IRS on the car. No need to Remove.

See the Workshop Manual.

And fit genuine Timken bearings not the ones marked 'Spain'!
