Hi all,
I think I am missing some parts from the luggage area of my Series 1 2 + 2. The problem is that the two floor sections in the luggage area do not sit correctly. There is a "cross brace" between the wheel arches with three saddle type supports welded to it. I think there ought to be another "brace" or support bolted to them.
Is that correct?
Also, I think there should be some fittings to clip the floor pieces into place and /or to lift the floor pieces out.
Is anyone able to help and does anyone know whether the various bits might be available from parts suppliers/wreckers/breakers?
Does anyone have any photos that show what is needed?

Hi Roger,

The three ?top hat? brackets support a metal strip that is screwed to the bottom back of the board that covers the transmission hump behind the rear seat.
The channel is in turn screwed to these ?top hat? brackets to keep the board in place and to support the rear boot boards, so they sit flush with the front board.
The idea is to take out the dip from front to back.of the car.
Earlier cars did not have these brackets and the arrangement for supporting the boards was different.
You will also notice that there is a smaller top hat bracket on each side By the wheel arch and these support the sides of the rear boards.
I did have some photos, but I am unable to find them at the moment.

Thanks Paul for your reply, it was very helpful. I was able to get all the bits for the luggage area from XKs in California - pretty amazing service just need to work out cheaper freight!
