#1 Series 1 4.2L CAR DATA PLATE

Hi All
Thought I would replace the car data plate that's located below the fuel filter bowl and riveted to the inner sill.
My original plate is scruffy and if reused would look even worse against my newly sprayed bodywork.
The new replacement arrived from Barratt's and looked good. However, when I compared it to my original, I noticed that the letter typeface and spacings are different.
Question-
Is there a supplier out there that has a true copy of the original?
I'm really reluctant to fit this repro.

Thanks

Steve

Been discussed recently here: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php? ... ssis+plate

Classic Jaguar in the USA can supply the correct photo-etched version at $25 and will stamp it up for you for a donation to charity.

Thanks David.

Ordered new plate from Classic Jaguars. A perfect match.
It's a pity that the UK suppliers can't offer the same service.

Indeed and one for Julian Barratt to consider. I think I will add a post on the subject to the 'Factory Fit' thread for the avoidance of doubt.
