Here is a short tutorial to repair the window regulator on all series 1 (and probably series 2).
If your window up or down by a sudden, there is some teeths of the small gear who are broken.
If you have a MIG or TIG welder, here is the solution :
1) Remove the cup containing the small gear and straightening the sheet fingers. When folded, the fingers will probably break !
2) The goal now is to recharge the damaged teeths with your welder.
3) Next, we need to start with the grinder then finish with a small file or a dremel to give a proper shape to the teeth repaired. Must adjust the teeth repaired one by one by placing the gear into place: We need every tooth can be clamped properly in front of the crown. This is long enough !!
4) Now the hardest part is done, it is necessary to drill five holes 4mm instead of sheet fingers and then you can put five M4 screws with nuts nilstop.
