#1 Motif bar

Hi All,
I am currently looking at purchasing a Series I roadster, finally!!!!! I have just one question, the motif bar is not in place, neither are the motif bar extensions, essentially the bumpers' chrome work stops at the over-riders, leaving the centre section at the oval air intake completely void of chrome. I have seen this on many cars, especially US imports, my question is this; is this standard???? Is it an easy fix, I guess it is!!!!!!

Certainly not standard although the motif bar was removed along with the over-riders from 9600 HP, the first Jaguar demonstrator, so it could reach the magic 150mph. However the The parts you are missing are the bumper extension assemblies x2 #BD19113, the motif bar #BD17700 and the motif #C16336 plus the various seals, clips washers and the two rubber mountings #BD24448. All available from SNGB.
Work out the total cost and get them to reduce the price of the car accordingly. Be aware that repro parts are not always a good fit so expect to fineness them or get the seller to do the whole thing for you as part of the deal.

I got 2x no. 4 (the small edges) from Pete, and these parts have the problem that the threads are broken, and I had to drill Out some stud remains.
Now- after some thinking- I know What I will do to Repair them : i will Drill an 8 mm hole, and fit a "rounded" nut with the correct thread size in There, and Weld it in place.
The Other 2 damaged threads can be enlarged, because it's just a Screw and a Bolt through them. But the Former One has the rubber Blocks fitted, which can't take more then a little Force before the bonding breaks, so beware.
Finally, rechrome it is...

P.s. I do have a tool which can rivet Nuts in pre-drilled holes, but metric threaded-Rivets only. I tried to re-cut these for UNF but failed, and re-Cutting the rubber thingies breaks the bonding destroying them.

Which reminds me, I caught a bit of the Italian Job again the other night, and neither 848CRY nor 619DXX ran with motif bars in the film.

Saying goodbye to my 1972 BRG SIII roadster is tough, but once I see the SI, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alot of work ahead, and I will no doubt be annoying you all for years to come!!!!!
