Should the rear door shut face be perfectly flat from side to side? I've marked the panel I'm talking about with an arrow here...

Mine has been bodged, sorry - repaired by the previous owner

and it isn't flat from side to side which concerns me! I want to brace the door openings but need to make sure I don't have the wrong shape to start with!!
Can anybody clarify please?
Thanks, Paul.

On the '67 coupe I'm currently restoring the panel is flat side to side as well as vertically.

99% sure it is flat. what you have there is rising rot that has been patched. I guess the repair platel has been welded on top of the other rotten panel and then tapped in to clear the door or dress with filler. not very nice!

Thanks all for the clarification. Didn't want to brace the doors if it's not in the right place!!
Yes it's got the typical rot in that area but the repair has been brazed in so loads of heat :?
