paint codes

This is something that seems to come up frequently but I'm at the end of the line here. Does anybody have a paint code for Opalescent Dark Blue that will work in North America. I'm aware of the old codes on the data base for colours on this forum, but draw a complete blank dealing with paint stores here with these numbers.

ODB = PO31-2636 aka ICI 2636M aka Glasso GIP 24473M

Give that code to any reliable paint shop and they should be able to replicate.

Another interesting site to have a look at is Cromax (previously DuPont).

They have an excellent colour search tool, type keywords such as Opalescent then refine with Jaguar will bring up the colours. Click on the relevant one (ODB) and you'll even get the mixing formula. Usefull for cross checking onto other paint systems, or if you fancy a modern colour as a replacement, then you get an insight into the subtleties of what is in the colour. Greys consisting of blue, violet, red, green and more.
