#1 hardtop on ebay - any experiences with Classic Car Parts?

Hello,
found an ad on ebay, for a series 1 hardtop that looks almost like factory.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-E-Type ... 2303cfb5f7
Anyone with any experiences with that one? Or with the company called Classic car parts , run by a guy named Tim Goldthorp?
Any help or feedback highly appreciated.
Best regards
Peter

That is the CMC hardtop and, I am guessing here, Tim Goldthrop could be related to Nick Goldthrop, MD of CMC. Ludlow is very close to Bridgenorth. You could always buy direct from CMC:

They have been selling those for at least 5 years on eBay since before they traded under that name. No personal experience but if they've been going that long they are clearly not fly-by-night and as David said I think there are local connections. I bought an unused SC Parts top from a Jag engineer in Leamington, otherwise I'd probably have bought from them.

Tim Goldthorp is Nick Goldthorp's son. I am just a little concerned at the description, however - "factory hardtop" to me means one made by the Jaguar factory , and not a CMC reproduction, good though those are

Looks legit but the wording would have put me off..... reminds me of Nigerian scams
"All these hardtops require are to be painted to the colour of your choice....
These can be shipping anywhere in the world in a crate"

Hello,
contacted him via mail, and he replied over the weekend. Will send me some more pictures, then I?ll know a bit more.
No one is claiming that it is a real factory hardtop, but a close replica, I could live with that. Only claim is the production process is the same, e.g. 2 shells, textile headliner and correct chrome Fittings, so I?ll collect as much info as possible. To me, all this looks ok, and at least a way one can think of.
Regards
Peter

I bought one a few years ago, and the quality is very high. Takes a bit of work to fit well against the rear panel, in around and between the rear wheel arches. Beautiiful headliner and chrom parts. I keep it on for the whole season, then remove it in order to let the soft top/hood be erected and thus keep its shape.
