voltage regulator rebuilding service

I have three voltage regulators for my car: the original, dated 9/61, and two later ones from '87 and '88. I do not have any recollection why the original was replaced. Based on the service manual, I don't feel I have the expertise or the tools to properly check out the original. Is there anyone offering a service to bench test and adjust them?

Thanks for the link, Paul. My car is in pieces, but I know where there is another where I might be able to temporarily install my voltage regulator and test it.
