Does anyone have pictures of the internal mechanism of the rear view mirror for the 3.8 DHC? The mirror part number is C17757.
I am reassembling one after chroming and have come to the realisation that there must be more parts than I have. Specifically I am interested in the mechanism that moves the glass for night driving.

Sorry I don't have a schematic, but there is a thread on this somewhere, as I wanted to know how to remove the glass from a mlrror for just the same purpose. I gave up in the end as my mirror glass was badly damaged. Actually come to think about it, I have the whole mirror somewhere without the glass in . I will try to look it out and photograph it for you.

That's the FHC mirror.
Mine is the rectangular one that goes on the windscreen support bar. Damn thing was disassembled by someone else for chroming and I think has come back missing parts...

Hi Andrew,
Mine is a repro but have opened it up for some photos in hope that it's the same as an original & of some use to you.
Essentialy it consists of 6 parts:
1. Bracket (including nut, arm, elbow) to secure the unit to the chrome upright
2. Rear (painted) casing
3. Front (chrome) casing
4. Chrome Lever
5. Spring
6. Mirror
The spring ends slide into the slots at bottom of rear casing & then the straight bit of the spring hooks onto the rear legs of the lever (which clips to the mirror). The mirror hinge is created by the mirror sitting within the lugs at the top of the rear casing. The chrome front casing is fitted by hooking it over the top of the rear casing & then snapping down onto bottom of rear casing.

Hope this makes some sense but if you need any further information drop us a line !
