Dear All,
For my sins i recently purchased from the US the above mentioned E-Type with the plan to fully restore it, subject to some modifications as outlined below.
Engine & Carbs
I am looking to fully recondition & up grade the engine to a fast road specification. Does anyone know if an article has been published detailing
what the options are & the possible bhp increases that might be acheived ?
Carbs
I will be replacing the existing Zenith Strombergs with 3 x SU's. I have contacted Cirencester Carbs & he is able to offer a full reconditioned set + manifold. Can someone recommend a company in the W-Midlands
who they feel could do justice, to tune the engine with this set up ? Ideally i would be looking at a rolling road option.
Rear Differential
The current Diff is a 2.88 & i am advised that a better option is to move to a 3.07 Diff. Comments please !
Any other advise would be greatly apprecdiated.
Lastly, I had thought about up grading the radiator to an aluminuim one, but on receiving the vehicle ( a restoration project that the previous owner had given up one ) have found that the previous owner had purchased a brand new one, it's actually a series 2 type (twin fan etc). My gut feeling is to use this one. Any comments would be greatly appreciated !!
Many Thanks
Marc

Welcome to the Forum Marc. In answer to your questions:
Engine:
Carbs: Hi-Tech Motorsport, Cradley Heath: http://www.hitechmotorsport.co.uk/
Diff: Stick with the 2.88 if you have a fast road engine - pointless going back to 3.07 unless you have a standard engine and even then .......

I used Hi-tech motorsport and the second time they got my car running well. They do have a very good set up there and deal with all sorts of classic cars.
