Just clicked 500 miles now and planning an oil change and re torque. Would be interested in what others think is the right schedule to adopt and what to do obviously a spanner check and levels . Anything else?

Had to have the head redone because a valve guide came loose. Otherwise the engine is going strong.

well, you might well ask! I applied more strength to tightening the spinner on the hub and this eliminated the loosness at the front. At the rear its tricky to tell as I do have a little bearing end float and will take this up when I do the first service. I have just returned from am 90 mile drive , which incidentally was awesome, and noticed that I have a little looseness on a front wheel again. However, I did not have time to jack the car up and see whether it was bearing float or the same old problem again. I had thought that I had solved it by using a bigger mallet to tighten the spinners on, but not sure now! will keep you posted.

Hi Andrew......driving it dosent sound a good idea to me till you have sorted the problem u could just make things worse.....and using a bigger hammer wont sort it, for example if u are at the end of the thread no matter how hard u hit it u cant go any further......what was the answer from the hub and spinner suppliers....Steve

Should be no more than 220lb/ft which equates to three whacks with the supplied mallet according to my tests with big torque wrench and spinner removal tool. Anything more than this and you have problems. If original spinners (AB marked) make no difference then it is the wheel/hub combination. Suggest you see if you can borrow a couple of original or other make wheels to see where the problem is. Or take two of your wheels/spinners to try on someone else's car.
